France in near lock down after tragic series of horrifying gun violence terrorism attacks

My heart aches for the French people after the horrific series of terrorism events unfolded over the past few days in Paris, with threats spreading throughout the country. France continues to be a nation in mourning and lock down against the risk of more attacks.

Obviously, these deadly incidents were so incendiary, they just couldn't be considered isolated or "lone wolf" attacks.

My retrospective question, certainly being considered by authorities, includes wondering how these killers, who perpetrated the attacks, gained access to guns and ammunition?

Je suis Charlie (I am Charlie, clarion for free speech) Paris est Charlie (Paris is Charlie)

French people have long a history of standing up against oppression and occupation. A brutal assault on free speech at the magazine office of Charlie Hebdo by Islamic extremists ended today (January 9) with at least 14 - 16 people dead, including the terrorists and other innocents.

These horrific killing events proved, once again, how France must organize against another enemy. Islamic extremism cannot be allowed to compromise the liberties France enjoys. But Muslims, themselves, must join the efforts to protect freedom.

French President Francois Hollande said there was no doubt it had been a terrorist attack "of exceptional barbarity".

Witnesses said they heard the gunmen shouting "We have avenged the Prophet Muhammad" and "God is Great" in Arabic ("Allahu Akbar").

Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité - are at risk

Although the Kouachi brothers are the apparent point persons who carried out the murders in Paris, and are now evidently dead, the terror is not likely over.

Like deja vu, this terrorist attack in Paris was weirdly similar to what happened in Boston, MA, when the radicalized Tsarnaev brothers successfully bombed the finish line at the city's annual Patriot's Day marathon.

Consequently, these attacks are, in fact, succeeding.

Each one takes a toll, while the preponderance of them are achieving the terrorists' goal of winning their point.

In other words, Islamic terrorists intend to end our Western way of life. They want to impose on their evil and oppressive ideologies on all the world.

In my opinion, the only way  to win this war against terrorism is for Muslims to rise up against the extremists. Killing them and their leadership off with drones and clandestine operations isn't working as fast as the extremists are able to recruit and train reinforcements.

We must put Muslims in charge of winning the war against their extremist terrorists. Otherwise, je suis Charlie will be lost.
