Someone Must Ask the Question about Governor Romney's Medical Records: Are They Hidden with His Tax Filing?

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/09/mitt-romney-drops-his-3-am-phone-call/262285/

I'm sincerely calling on the American news media to ask for Governor Mitt Romney's medical records.

There's something intrinsically wrong with a man who reacts in the uncontrolled manner as Romney did when learning about the horrible situation in Libya, where our American Ambassador Christopher Stevens was murdered in Benghazi.

James Fallows of The Atlantic writes:
"The 3 a.m. phone call is shorthand for the unforeseen emergency that requires both a quick reaction and the beginning of longer second- and third-stage responses. Often the most important immediate decision is not to react immediately. There are times when every minute counts, but not usually. The first impulse, the first wave of fragmentary information, the first set of available options -- these often turn out to be misleading."

Any forensic psychologist will tell you that keeping one's cool during a crises of the magnitude now smoldering in the Middle East is essential if everyone is to survive, emotionally, physically and politically.  Instead of making a leadership statement, Governor Romney used his "3AM moment" to inappropriately condemn President Obama for the horrible situation.  Now, as a result of his caustic comments, Romney is the focus of the news rather than the mob scene murder in Benghazi.

This what Governor Romney could have said, after he had facts,  and before he leaped to criticize the President Obama administraton about the murder of Ambassador Stevens:

"Dear Fellow Americans and our friends in Libya, my wife Ann and I are mourning the terrible murder of our American Ambassador Christopher Stevens and several of our diplomatic citizens in a deplorable act of violence in Banghazi.  I am calling for President Obama to disclose to the American people all of the facts about this deplorable situation.  My sincere condolences extend to Mr. Stevens family, and to the families of all those who were terrorized by this murderous act....".....and that's how Romney's statement should have gone.....

Fallows write: "But that is not what he said. When he first heard about the violence and protests last night, he rushed to condemn the administration before anyone knew fully what was going on. After he had had a few hours to think, he dug himself in far deeper with a graceless press conference whose dominant theme was partisan criticism of the administration."

Fallows goes on, "In short, when faced with a 3 a.m. test, he reacted immediately, rather than having the instinct to wait. And after he waited, he mistook this as a moment for partisanship rather than for at least the appearance of statesmanlike national unity. The irony, of course, is that resisting the partisan impulse today would have been the greatest possible boost to his horse-race prospects two months from now."

Instead of a measured response, Mr. Romney spread salt on the oozing wounds of this heinous international crime against American diplomats.

Now, as a result of Romney's confused reaction to the Libyan murders, he is concocting lies. Romney made this up:

“I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi,” Mr. Romney said in a statement that went out just before 10:30 p.m. “It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

What is Romney talking about in the above paragraph? I don't know.

Later on Wednesday, in Jacksonville, Florida, Romney re-framed his initial brutal comments to include condolences for the families of the victims, but not before he had created a brouhaha for the morning day's news cycle.  But he fulfilled what he wanted to do, making news, regardless of the consequences.

The Daily Beast reports:

Mitt Romney’s Ill-Timed Assault on President Obama as Americans Are Killed Abroad

By ripping the administration as U.S. diplomats were being killed abroad, the GOP nominee risks looking insensitive. Howard Kurtz examines the fallout.

Truth (obviously not a viable word in Romney's vocabulary) be told, the real story might well be this:
NBC's First Read:
http://www.theamericanhuman.com/2012/09/romney-disqualifies-himself-from.html

"Yesterday we noted that Mitt Romney, down in the polls after the convention, was throwing the kitchen sink at President Obama. Little did we know the kitchen sink would include -- on the anniversary of 9/11 -- one of the most over-the-top and (it turns out) incorrect attacks of the general-election campaign . Last night after 10:00 pm ET, Romney released a statement on the attacks on the U.S. embassies in Egypt and Libya. After saying he was 'outraged' by these attacks and the death of an American consulate worker, Romney said, 'It's disgraceful that the Obama administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.' Yet after learning every piece of new information about those attacks, the Romney statement looks worse and worse -- and simply off-key."

Will the news media please ask to see Governor Romney's medical records?  His mis-statements and ramblings appear to be going pathologically off course.

With all the attention given to Romney's tax information, no one asked to, also, see his Medical Records.

Romney's health information might be more revealing than anything we have seen him hide from the public thus far.

You certainly bring up a good point. No one has brought this up yet. Although I don't know if his reaction means he has a diagnosable mental or physical condition. But it certainly means that he's not cut out to be President.

Thank you Norah, I don't understand why the media has not requested Governor Romney's health records with his taxes. It's unconscionable that President Obama's birther myth continues but the news media won't hound Governor Romney for legitmate information about his health and his taxes.
