House party for Hillary 2016 in Brunswick Maine

Embedded image permalink

Although this iPhone picture is a little dark, the fact is Dick (seated) and I enjoyed our visit to the Brunswick, Maine house party for Hillary Clinton 2016. We listened to plans for organizing supporters to elect our nation's first woman president.

Well, I finally had a chance to vent my frustration with the inability of Democrats to push back on vitriolic Republican rhetoric on social networking.

We must learn to use social networking to our advantage!

Let's take the example of a tweet I received after posting a message about the #House_Party_Hillary_2016.  So, what happened is, a troll for right wing media instantly flooded my twitter feed with incoherent messages about conspiracy theories related to unsubstantiated hate about the world leader and humanitarian Mrs. Clinton.

This is how I responded to the tweet, always in 140 characters. What I did was to hash tag: #Hillary_Clinton_humanitarian_world_leader and then posted this as a response to the vitriolic right winger tweet.  BUT, I knew the right wing tweeter was a troll for anything about Hillary Clinton. Therefore, as soon as I posted my # comment, I went to the tweeter's feed and blocked him.  Believe me, readers, absolutely nothing makes a right winger angrier than to be blocked by a liberal tweeter!

Obviously, social networking and push back with the right wing trolls on twitter are not the world for the faint of heart. These right wing people are strange and angry.  But, Democratic push back must be done.  Let's learn how to deal with these social networking predators and fight them in real time, before they use their negative energy to take control of populist thinking.

In my opinion, as a social networking guru, the right wing has decades of advantage on controlling our negative thinking. They have taken over our abilities to reason.  So, we Democrats must learn how to push back or we will loose our opportunity to elect a qualified woman to lead America.

Let's elect Hillary Clinton in 2016 and begin by getting involved in social networking to support her campaign. Learn it and do it!

#Hillary_Clinton_2016!

Right Winger Limbaugh Should Stick to Politics

My thinking about right wing radio pundits is to prevent their name from appearing in the media, because these zealots thrive on their notoriety. Nevertheless, ignoring them isn't always possible when their outrageous behavior must be admonished.

Right wing radio nut, Rush Limbaugh, must be experiencing low radio ratings. Otherwise, why in the world would he dare to challenge Pope Francis on political grounds? He's terribly wrong.

Limbaugh claims Pope Francis talks like a Marxist because he defends wealth sharing with the poor. Although I certainly don't know Pope Francis, I'm sure he's unaffected by Limbaugh's blabber mouthing.

In daring to challenge Pope Francis about his opposition to "trickle down" economics, a theory about how the rich somehow magically share wealth with the poor, Limbaugh's extremist position finally confirms what most social justice liberals have been saying for decades. In other words, conservatives like Limbaugh can't achieve eternal salvation because they ignore the Beatitudes, preached at The Sermon on the Mount by Jesus Christ.

As a matter of fact, challenging Pope Francis may well have determined the eternal salvation of the bombastic Russ Limbaugh. Thankfully, Pope Francis also believes fervently in forgiveness, so Limbaugh still has a chance to redeem himself.

Nevertheless, Limbaugh violated the most important tenet of the Beatitudes:  Jesus condemns those who judge others before first judging themselves: "Judge not, that ye be not judged.

People who follow radio pundits expect Limbaugh to act in bizarre ways when the egotist is determined to get attention. But, like Jesus said to his followers, render unto Caesar things that are Caesars. Limbaugh should stick to his political rantings and stay far, far away from mentioning Pope Francis.

I predict Limbaugh's radio demise is forthcoming. Cancelling his show is long over due.

Moreover, his criticism of Pope Francis is inappropriate.

Meanwhile, I advise Limbaugh to retract his judgmental statements about Pope Francis. There's virtually nothing to be gained by having right winger Limbaugh confirm what social liberals believe about his eternal salvation.

A Christian can't be a political conservative. It's incongruous.

Pope Francis has every right to call out conservatives for their arrogance towards the poor. On the other hand, Limbaugh and his minions have no right whatsoever to criticize the Pope.

Ted Cruz Needs to Take a Cruise Using His Own Money - Stop Wasting Taxpayer Time and Money

When Ted Cruz talks to the empty seats in the Congress, does his noise get heard?  Regardless of who is listening (or not) he is taking up the oxygen in the room while wasting taxpayer time and money.

A fellow blogger named The Progressive Professor posted this worthy information about Strom Thurmond:

The Senate filibuster was once used, years ago, to prevent civil rights legislation, with South Carolina Senator Strom Thurmond becoming infamous for the longest individual filibuster in Senate history in 1957 on that subject. Thurmond doesn't look very good in history due to his prejudiced, narrow minded stand on that topic.

Senator Rand Paul used the filibuster tactic months ago to protest drone policy on foreign soil, and a crazy fear that drones would be used against Americans on domestic soil.  (Insert Maine Writer:  Moreover, we don't know how many American lives have been saved with drone technology - read No Easy Day by pseudonym Mark Owen)

And Senator Ted Cruz is...using the filibuster to attempt to destroy ObamaCare, denying millions of Americans the opportunity to have decent health care.  (....all the while, 26 percent of his Texas constituents do not have health insurance....)

Neither Paul from months ago, and Cruz today, will change American policy, as the President will use drones only overseas, as a measure of defense and security policy against terrorists, including Americans who fight for the enemy; and ObamaCare will proceed, no matter what Cruz says or does.

(As a matter of fact, popular provisions in the Obamacare law are already operational!  We can't undo what's already in place.)

But in the process, only the loonies on the extreme right will rally to either Paul or Cruz, and the Tea Party movement may have impact in the House of Representatives and with a few Senators, but both men are self destructing before our eyes by their own words and actions! If the GOP is nuts enough to nominate either of these characters for President, they will get what they deserve, a walloping defeat in 2016!  (Here!  Here! I totally agree!)

Maine Writer- Ted Cruz needs to stop wasting tax payer money. Give him a meager severance (sell some of his Senate office furniture to pay for it) and send him on a cruise. Sail him away from those of us trying to move our nation forward with progressive policies, consistent with other civilized world nations who provide health coverage for their citizens.

Here's a Bon Voyage tune for cruising Cruz:

Sailing by Christopher Cross
"Your fight with Obamacare is... Fantasy,
(but)...it's not far back to sanity.... and soon,
we can be set free from your insanity ....Sailing..."

Bon Voyage Ted Cruz and every other Tea Party right wing extremist.  RWE-RWE's of the world must be voted into the horizon.

Prophesy and the US Mid Term Elections

Prophesy is a good way for newspaper pundits to get attention.

Some practice prophesy when it comes to predictions about a Republican right wing take over of the US Congress in the nation's November 2010 mid term elections.

New York Times columnist E.J. Dionne says a tsunami is on the horizon for Democrats. Peggy Noonan of the Wall Street Journal writes, "How Do You Stop An Elephant Charging?" http://online.wsj.com/article/declarations.html.

Well, here's my prediction, made without resorting to cataclysmic metaphors: We need another metaphor. Democrats must get off their asses and tell American voters why they are so angry. Voters have reasons to feel skepticism and concern, but the anger is being fed by lies - about health care, about President Obama's citizenship and religion (he is an American born Christian!) and how we are somehow going to loose our rights to Freedom of Speech and to bear arms as guaranteed to us in the US Constitution - these lies are growing like weeds among the uninformed electorate.

Democrats need not face an election of "no confidence" if they stand up to the unabated lies perpetrated in the negative lame stream media (I resent using a Sarah Palin media concept, she invented it, but - yes, even a broken clock gives the right time twice a day).

Democrats must use their considerable campaign monies to fight the enemy of democracy, i.e., right wing extremism, and counter the election predictions driven by anger stirred up in the voting public. I'm convinced the "no drama Obama" administration is not serving Democrats who must use a simple law of physics to counter the prevailing prophesies about a Republican right wing take over. In other words, fight back lies and right wing extremism with a force equal to the venom spewed by conservative negative spin egotists like Sarah Palin, Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh.

Hilary Clinton labeled this band of extremists "the vast right wing conspiracy". She used her First Lady bully pulpit, at the time, as a force against extremists who were perennially stirring up trouble for her and President Clinton's administration.

When President Harry Truman was challenged by Republicans, he labeled them the "do nothing Congress!".

We need a slogan to counter the prophesies of a right wing take over of our country.

Right Wing Extremists are RWE's - "really weird egotists". Worse, they concoct cauldrons of negativity, infecting our country with black smoke, perpetrating lies faster than a computer virus.

Maine's Democratic Congressman Mike Michaud said the single most common sense statement in a short speech he gave recently at a political rally - he said Democrats must get energized. Yes, Congressman Michaud is correct. But the force for this energy must begin today. Let's stop this nonsense of the inevitable, about a RWE takeover of our country. Rather, let's change the course of prophesy with Democratic action!

Peggy Noonan's elephant metaphor could become a stampede of donkeys!
