Trump family immigration
The United States has always been a country of immigrants. Donald Trump's family is the leading example. His mother Mary Anne MacLeod Trump was a Scottish immigrant.
An echo letter to the editor ~ opinion published in the Delmarva now. com newspaper, in Salisbury, Maryland.Regarding legal immigration, it is time for Americans to get on the same page when defining terms.
Let's learn about legal immigration by example. One case study, the First Family, (the Trump family) provides us with nearly every variation on the legal immigration theme.
FLOTUS Melania (nee Knaus) arrived in 1996 on a series of student and/or work visas. She began dating now-POTUS Donald Trump in 1998, two years later applying for the coveted EB-1 status, nicknamed the "Einstein visa," as it is limited to those of extraordinary achievement in their chosen field, who will have something of value to offer their new nation.
Melania, with an exceptional gift for nude modeling, applied in 2000 and was quickly granted EB-1 status in 2001 — one of only five Slovenians to earn that privilege.
Just a year after marrying Donald Trump, she was able to obtain U.S. citizenship, that was in 2006, and subsequently bring her parents to join her — the actual definition of "chain migration."
Meanwhile, Trump-built condos in Florida, predominantly Russian-owned, offer maternity-themed vacation packages for the purpose of giving birth to "anchor babies" endowed with dual Russian-U.S. citizenship.
So there we have it — lottery visa, chain migration and anchor babies — all of which define family Trump, yet he rails against them.
The draconian measures he wishes to impose upon the "little guys" apply to every family except his own.
Strangely, the purported evangelicals who have given Trump a perpetual mulligan do not seem to recognize Biblical warnings against moral hypocrisy. Shame on all of them.
