Cardinal Timothy Dolan Found Himself Inside Politics and Responds

Cardinal Timothy Dolan obtained an invitation to pray at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte North Carolina, this week.  Of course, it's likely the invitation would not have been possible, had the Cardinal passed on a similar invite from the Republicans, where he prayed at their Tampa, FL convention, last week.  Thankfully, the Democrats also invited Sister Simone Campbell along with Cardinal Dolan.

Believe me, blog readers, for a Roman Catholic Cardinal to appear as an equal, with a religious nun, is about as humble as a Prince of the Church ever gets.

Perhaps my two blogs, along with the wonderful postings on twitter @CathDems helped sway both the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Cardinal Dolan to realize this side by side invite.

Regardless of the invitation's origins, and it's acceptance, it's a good thing for all Roman Catholics to see the social justice teachings of our church personified.

I'm glad to see Dolan and Simone, both, praying for our nation with the Democratic National Convention:
