Donald Trump and a reality show presidency

Americans are giving mixed messages to political pollsters. On one hand, the name Donald Trump for president receives high negatives- people don't particularly like him as a presidential candidate. Nevertheless, the name Donald Trump continues to lead in the Republican polls when people are asked who they support among the GOP line up of candidates.  Now, President Obama has contributed to this unweildy and politically difficult to understand GOP dichotomy.

President Obama said today he doesn't believe the GOP frontrunner Donald Trump will make it to the White House.

Obama Says Trump Won't Be President: 'It's Not Hosting a Talk Show'
Donald Trump can't run the nation like the job is a Reality TV Show!

Yet, "the Donald" real estate mogul took the President's remark as a compliment, saying Obama has done a "lousy job." (Of course, "Trump the Chump" has claimed bankruptcy three times and married a trio of wives, having two failed marriages; but wants to try a new hobby, by placing his bet on high stakes politics.)

"I continue to believe Mr. Trump will not be president," Obama said while speaking at a press conference in Rancho Mirage, California. "And the reason is, because I have a lot of faith in the American people."

Obama told reporters he believed Americans still see the presidency as "a serious job."

“It’s not hosting a talk show, or a reality show. It’s not promotion, it’s not marketing,” Obama said. “It’s hard and a lot of people count on us getting it right.”

Obama did not, however, answer whether he believed Trump was capable of securing the GOP nomination.

President Obama also commented about the rest of the GOP field, saying “foreign observers are troubled” by the GOP's rhetoric, specifically the doubting of climate change and proposals to ban Muslims from entering the U.S.

In my opinion, the reason Donald Trump continues to bask in his high GOP poll numbers is because none among the others in the line up of Republican "wanna-bees" has shown leadership. Rather than inspiring the American people, the GOP candidates waste time fighting with each other about topics like who among them are the biggest liars.

In fact, being President of the United States is an extremely serious job.  Although Donald Trump pushes back on all of his critics, he continues to be an embarrassment to the Republican party because of his egotistical "make American great again" campaign.  Donald Trump is denegrating American rather than making it "great". Those Republicans who believe Donald Trump can keep his ridiculous vision of "greatness", are blinded by bigotry.

Donald Trump was a medicore television personality. He should never be taken seriously as a man with any qualifications to be nominated or elected to be leader of the free world.
