Republican Wars - Women, Uninsured and Poor

Ambitiously power hungry Republicans, right wing zealots and fiscal hawks apparently have a primal genetic predisposition for fighting wars.

Rather than focus their energies on helping people, they choose to fight against humanitarian progress, prevent women from accessing health care, block those without health insurance from finding affordable coverage and completely stop the poor from receiving Medicaid assistance.

Washington Post contributor Matt Miller writes, "The Republican message to uninsured Americans in the wake of the Supreme Court's recent ruling (on the Affordable Care Act) couldn't be clearer: You’re on your own."http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/gop-to-the-uninsured-drop-dead/2012/07/10/gJQA4xZfbW_story.html

For Republicans to regain self respect, they must recommend tax reform consistent with the Bowles-Simpson report. (National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, called Bowles-Simpson/Simpson-Bowles, named for Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles, or NCFRR; is a Presidential Commission created in 2010 by President Barack Obama to identify "…policies to improve the fiscal situation in the medium term and to achieve fiscal sustainability over the long r run.")

Of course, most Republican Congressional leaders appear to live in fear of the super rich Grover Norquist, the anti-tax demigod, who threatens them with political extinction if they support responsible tax policy.

Republican Congressional leaders like Eric Cantor and Mitch McConnell, would rather pay homage to Norquist's unauthorized influence, than support their Constitutional responsibility to provide for the health and safety of their fellow human beings.

Right wing extremists who follow Congressional radical war lords need to spend time in community service caring for people in crises, providing health care for those who cannot afford prevention programs or even living for one day alongside a person who needs Medicaid.

Using the Nuns on the Bus model,  a group of religious women calling for social justice awareness, Americans need to follow the Biblical teaching about being our Brothers' Keepers.

Republican Wars against people who can't defend themselves are worse than wrong minded politicians.  They are cowardly to politically fight against vulnerable people, unable to defend themselves.

Rather, it takes courage to execute fiscal, and taxation responsibility and to disavow any relationship with the demigod Grover Norquist.
