Echo from Alaska- Democrat thanks Senator Murkowski

Fairbanks Daily-News Miner- a Democrat writes this letter to the editor:

Aug.15

To the editor: (from Fairbanks) I’ve lived here more than 40 years and I’m a Democrat. But I am an Alaskan first. I voted for Sen. Ted Stevens every chance I got because I knew he always put Alaska needs above everything else.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski has shown she has the courage to do the same. Despite tremendous pressure from her own party, she did what was right for our state.

Unfortunately, our junior senator, Sen. Dan Sullivan, bowed to the pressure. He could not see what we need to send now to the federal government is a unified voice from Alaska. Apparently, he does not realize what he’s done affects a large part of his constituency.

I believe in democracy. If all the people whom he has harmed show up next election, then when he is out of a job, he might get it.
I have a long memory. I am going to do everything I can to ensure he is not re-elected.
U.S. senators have six-year terms. It will take awhile to get him out. Register to vote. For the system to truly work for the most people, you must become part of the process and make your voice heard. Make the effort. It’s in your best interest.

And again, thank you Sen. Murkowski, for standing up for Alaskans.  ---

South Korea might finally defeat unqualified Donald Trump

GOP Senators Forced To Soothe South Korea
"We'll Stop Trump"

Awww, dontcha just feel bad for Republicans who must defend their endorsement of Trump while counteracting his offensive foreign policy declarations?

It just tears at your heartstrings to watch Republicans have to deal with the consequences of nominating a pathological liar and petulant toddler as their presidential candidate.

From Politico:

How does Senator Joni Ernst explain Donald Trump's stupid North Korean policy to our allies in South Korea?

Just as pressure is mounting on Republican elected officials to fall in line behind Trump, Sens. Joni Ernst of Iowa, Cory Gardner of Colorado and Dan Sullivan of Alaska are in South Korea undercutting Trump's bluster with assurances that the U.S. is not about to renege on trade agreements or demand its allies pay more to support American forces on Korean soil.

These three Tea Party Senators are not up for re-election in November, so they can devote time to damage control for the GOP. (Ernst and Sullivan have already endorsed Trump, Gardner hasn't.) These would-be ambassadors wound up devoting the entirety of their four-nation Asian trip to allaying fears about a possible Trump Presidency.

Ernst and Sullivan also apparently voiced disagreement with Trump's assertion that South Korea doesn't pay enough to keep 28,500 U.S. troops on its soil and asserted that Trump's position on the matter is ill-informed and unlikely to be folded into the official Republican Party platform next month at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
GOP Senators Forced To Soothe South Korea: "We'll Stop Trump"
Trio of right wing T-party Senators Senator Cory Gardner, Senator Dan Sullivan and Senator Joni Ernst try to explain the unqualified Donald Trump position about North Korea to the US allies in South Korea
"Already the Republic of Korea bears the large brunt of what goes on in the Korean Peninsula," Ernst said, according to the Yonhap report. "As we look at Europe and NATO, there are countries there that, yes, need to do more. They have not stepped up to that challenge yet. However, when you take a look at the Korean Peninsula, it's a very different situation."

It's gotta be embarrassing (ya' think?) to point out to diplomats and the press in a foreign country that the candidate you (stupid GOP) endorsed is wrong about foreign policy, and to promise that you'll keep him under control.

Joni Ernst is going to castrate that hog? Really?

(Maybe,  South Korea can change right wing Republicans' minds about unifying the GOP, regardless of the political and international consequences! #neverTrump)
