But, the time has now come for me to take responsibility for this failure, which is why I now call on the United States Congress to ban assault rifles, like the one used by the sick perpetrator of the mass killing in my hometown of Lewiston, Maine. For the good of my community, I will work with any colleague to get this done in the time that I have left in Congress. To the people of Lewiston, my constituents throughout the 2nd District, to the families who lost loved ones, and to those who have been harmed, I ask for forgiveness and support as I seek to put an end to these terrible shootings."

God bless Maine Rep. Jared Golden 😇for his statement and his conversion. My best friend growing up lives a half a mile from the bowling alley where one of the shootings in Maine happened. His family is under lockdown as I write this.

Representative Elise Stefanik is the quasi Lady Macbeth star of the seditionist MAGA movement

I used to write about this often. I’ve gotten to feeling defeated on the issue and still do. I’d like to ask Rep. Elise Stefanik if a similar tragedy in her district would lead to the road to Damascus moment that Golden has experienced. Or just more thoughts and prayers? I don’t even see those on her Twitter feed*.

I trust that by the time this runs it won’t be “too early” to discuss it.

*In my opinion, the Lady of Macbeth of Congress, i.e., Elise Stefanik, has the nastiest Twitter feed of any politician who uses the program to spew mis-information, conspiracies and hate. She is a negative individual who has no business serving the good people of New York state. She is even nastier than #GymJimJordan, the outrageous Congressman from Ohio, Jim Jordan.
