Obviously the highly controversial and bombastic leadership of Donald Trump has stirred up a hornets nest of responses from voters who want to share their anxieties and ideas about America's future. Record numbers of constitutents are communicating with Maine Senator Angus King, an Independent, who is helping his staff to speak with the callers in his Washington DC office and to respond to the high volume of calls.  His wife Mary Hermon also helped to take constituent calls in Maine.

I pitched in on the phone this morning to take calls from people around Maine reaching out to share their thoughts and concerns on issues before the Senate. Some were surprised they got me! Many asked what they could do, and here’s my advice: “Keep engaged, keep involved, and keep in touch.”
