January 6 was a violent insurrectionist riot- "NOT ordinary citizens"

https://tulsaworld.com/opinion/letters/letter-we-need-to-educate-ourselves-about-disinformation/article_83b82e62-8de4-11ec-bd70-9bc7094fa489.html

Tulsa World echo opinion letter- Voting makes America a strong democracy!
OPINION- I am increasingly dismayed about actions being taken to weaken our democracy.

They include legislation making voting more difficult; new laws that give state legislatures the ability to overturn election results; continuing false claims that the 2020 election was “stolen”; new state laws making it difficult to teach the American history in schools; and an unwillingness by many to accept science in regard to climate change and the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

I now read that well-educated people in national leadership positions have described the January 6, 2021, events as “…ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse.”
January 6 riot and insurrection on January 6, 2021

What? Do these people read newspapers, watch TV news, or look at actual footage of the assault on our Capitol? We have survived a civil war, the Jim Crow years, assassinations of our national leaders, McCarthyism, the Vietnam War protests, and more, so perhaps we will also survive the current threat to our democracy.

To do so we must educate ourselves on how to sort out facts from false information and conspiracy theories. We need to wean ourselves off social media where much of our disinformation originates. We must protect ourselves against autocratic leaders and false prophets.

Our forefathers gave us a great form of government. We have experienced numerous adversities, but the ideal of "freedom and justice' for all was always the goal. Let's continue this quest. Democracy is fragile. Let's continue to stand for freedom and against tyranny.

A public call to remove Donald Trump from propaganda White House misinformation conferences

https://www.tulsaworld.com/opinion/letters/letter-to-the-editor-remove-president-trump-from-press-conferences/article_7cf48283-c3d3-51f5-b5d7-470358017ec7.html

Remove Stupid Donald Trump from propaganda White House press conferences- echo opinion letter published in the Oklahoma newspaper Tulsa World.
#25thAmendmentNow
Governors are on the frontline of the battle to control the pandemic COVID-19 virus spread.  They communicate with their hospitals and medical community constantly to know what is needed and where.  But, stupid Donald Trump think’s he’s smarter than they are and is constantly getting in the way of their progress. He is spreading misinformaiton.  He’s admitted he doesn’t agree with the medical experts and he ignorantly ignores their advice.

It’s become obvious he wants to take credit when the crisis is over after ignoring all the data he was given months before the virus came to the U.S.

Trump refuses to take responsibility for his failures and blames the press for overstating the emergency and scaring the American people. He has viciously attacked governors who ask for his help and blames them for his failures. Unqualified and unfit for office, Trump's actually causing even more deaths with bogus claims about other drugs that may or may not help.

The dire predictions that our medical experts and governors made are coming true.  More states Trump wanted to open up are reporting a rise in cases and deaths. He’s not helping; he’s just making things worse!

Removing him from press conferences would be a huge benefit and help speed the recovery.

GOP Congress had years to investigate Obama, Clinton and the Bidens and found nothing

Stupid Trumpzi supporters don't care about facts
Echo opinion letter published in the Oklahoma newspaper Tulsa World

Stop trying to convince Donald Trump voters to care about facts.

In fact, tRumpzis don’t care about facts.

They don’t care that $115 million is spent on Trump's golfing or that the $1.9 trillion in tax cuts was for the wealthy and corporations. Or that Jared and Ivanka Kushner have made over $82 million after one year at the White House.

Or that President Barack Obama added more jobs each year than Trump has done in any year of his term. Or that only 0.2% of immigrant detainees have connections to the MS-13 gang.

Or that Trump puts political appointees to intelligence and national security positions. Or that Hillary Clinton sat for 11 hours of testimony for Benghazi, and Trump won’t testify, submit documents or allow others to testify in any investigation.

Or that 13 of the bottom 15 states in the country are run by Republican legislatures.

Or that Trump’s former campaign chairman, deputy campaign chairman, foreign policy adviser, personal lawyer, national security adviser and longtime political adviser are convicted felons.
Or that Trump’s campaign gave his family members, properties and businesses over $1.8 million in just three months.

Or that Trump lied about how many military members were hurt by an airstrike in Iraq. Or that a GOP Congress had years to investigate Obama, Clinton and the Bidens and found
nothing.

Trumpzi's  don’t care about this country. Instead, all they care about is abuse of power.

The only way to win in November is to vote in record numbers. Check your registration early and often. Show you care about this country because Trump voters won’t.

Betrayal of Kurds is a grave sin against our human condition - Oklahoma echo

TULSA WORLD opinion letter echo from Pat Malloy in Tulsa:
It is impossible to forget the image of the small Kurdish town of Kobani: rubble and trenches completely surrounded by pure evil.

Kurdish men and women fighting alongside each other against the terrorist ISIS, an illegal caliphate, in what seemed at the time was the last hold out against barbarism at the gate.

An entire world essentially depended on the raw courage of these humble people to fight the dirty fight on behalf of all of us. And fight they did, losing in excess of 11,000 brave souls.

Now, based on the demands of a complete autocrat whose country did nothing to rid the planet of ISIS, our country has engaged in a despicable act of betrayal and treachery.

Betrayal may well be the greatest sin of all. Inherent in the act is an utter violation of trust.

Trust is the cornerstone of all human relations. Therefore, when we betray the Kurds, who have been the US faithful allies, we destroy any and all credibility we have, and what does any country have if it loses the trust of the entire human community? (Answer from Maine Writer- a Trumpzi regieme void of integrity!)

Impeachable offenses will not stop until Donald Trump is removed from office

America is now at the brink of impeachment.
An opinion echo published in the Oklahoma newspaper Tulsa World by Wilfred Sanditen, in Tulsa.
This is an extreme circumstance; all of us who are patriotic Americans need to give long and serious thought to that possibility.

This has been brought about because Donald Trump has exhibited numerous illegal acts, each of which is impeachable under our Constitution.

In accepting illegal help from Moscow to be elected in 2016, he ignored our laws, stonewalled Congress, constantly committed obstructions of justice, conspired with the Russians for political help, enriched himself and family at our expense and unbelievably flaunted action to protect our nation’s security.

This led to the firing of James Comey to prevent an investigation of Trump’s affiliation with the Russians: a firing Trump bragged of to the Russians, saying it took a great deal of pressure of the pending investigation off him.

All these impeachable offenses came from the firing of Comey, which caused a bit of commotion. But Congress, controlled by (cult following!) Republicans, did nothing.

That inaction opened a door that Trump took advantage of. He knew he could commit whatever act he wanted without consequences.

Now Trump has invited more than one foreign government to interfere in our election process. The other offenses seem forgotten.

This is a direct and unacceptable affront to our Constitution that cannot be forgiven.

If he remains in office, there is no telling what else he will do.

We cannot keep Trump in office. This means both Democrats and Republicans must agree.

Republicans are stonewalling. This is unacceptable if our nation as a democracy is to survive.

A new rat- America has been down this maze before: Trump's war path

Again? Raise your hand if you smell a rat.

Does that rat smell a lot like the argument used to go after Saddam Hussein and his weapons of mass destruction we later confirmed did not really exist?

We saw and heard high-level government officials do their best to convince the American public the threat was real, imminent, and we needed to strike hard and fast.

The weighted rhetoric was force-fed through media outlets, and counterarguments were greatly muted.

The invasion of Iraq took place, and American troops and treasure were locked in a prolonged conflict based on an embellished lie.
The new rat is being paraded as an effort to justify a new military action against Iran.

We see grainy images of a small boat and several individuals floating next to a giant oil tanker. The action is being labeled as a military strike against shipping in the region.

It appears to be a weak attempt by someone who wants to draw America into another expensive war and keep us entangled in the Middle East.

If the attacks on tankers were truly an act of war, those tankers would be resting on the bottom of the ocean. There are special interests at play here.

America has been led down this path before, and the results do not work in our favor. War should only be a response to an undeniable threat, and it must also include a well-defined end game.

Soldiers will die for political reasons - again.
