Donald Trump does not care about you or anything else he campaigned on he only cares about himself. Impeach Trump Now!

Echo opinion letter by Stan Livingston, in Vancouver Washington, published in The Columbian
Donald Trump Does Not Care❗
Well, it’s official. Donald Trump clearly stated without any possibility of claiming “fake news” that
  • He doesn’t care about you. He said so.
  • He doesn’t care about the midterms in November,]He doesn’t care about gas prices,
  • He doesn’t care about killing innocent people, (175 innocent school children in an Iran tomahawk bombing❗)
  • He doesn’t care about international law (or the laws of his own country which he swore to uphold),
  • He doesn’t care about the fact that he has broken his promise about “no more forever wars.”
  • He doesn't care about Epstein's victims who were abused by Trump and his pedophile friends who are named in the Epstein Files.
Trump only cares about himself. He is forcing a false legacy by establishing an obsession about building a massive ballroom, a gigantic arch and all of the signs to which he adds his name, and he only cares about what his own “morality” guides him to do.

Donald Trump just doesn’t care …😔😐😟😡

A suggestion for our sick leader: If Trump wants to save the government money, I suggest he fire the entire corrupt White House staff (except the butlers, cooks and staff who bring him McDonald’s hamburgers), his Cabinet and all of the “advisers” from which he refuses to accept advice. Could be big savings that would help pay off the national debt.  #ImpeachTrumpNow❗

Speaker Mike Johnson, who has accomplished next to nothing as House leader

Letter echo published in The Columbian newspaper in Vancouver, Washington state:

Speaker sucks up to Trump by Don Howard, in CAMAS, Washington State.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, who has accomplished next to nothing as House leader, (although he promised to govern according to the Bible...his own edited for politics version) apparently decided on his own to give Donald Trump a special America First Award for what he ignorantly described as his “tireless work for the American people and fixing all of the country’s problems.”

To feed Trump’s inflated narcissistic ego and desperate self-glorification needs was the speaker’s only concern, commonly referred to these days as “sucking up.”

Speaker Johnson probably should have more appropriately substituted a golden calf image on the award instead of the golden eagle as witnessed by Trump’s sickening Easter morning profanity-laced attack on Iran, his posting of the disgusting picture depicting himself as Jesus, his desire to build the “arc de Trump” and the golden 90,000-square-foot ballroom in honor of himself, and his vile verbal assaults on the Pontiff for merely speaking God’s word instead of Trump’s word.

Lord, please help us, for some of us do not realize what we are actually up against.

Republicans and maga Republicans must listen to Americans' growing opposition against ICE terrorism

Echo editorial published in The Columbian newspaper, in Vancouver Washington state. Immigration actions: Ends don’t justify means.

When it comes to immigration enforcement, the ends do not justify the means. Federal efforts to identify and detain undocumented immigrants under Donald Trump have too often violated the law, decorum and common sense, creating conflict rather than efficient implementation.

Supporters point out that Trump was elected for a second time largely because of his proposals for immigration policy, claiming that he is carrying out the will of the American public. But, a sober analysis reveals that he is not living up to his campaign promises.

The Trump administration does not release details to support its “official” deportation statistics, making direct comparisons difficult. But the Deportation Data Project at UCLA shows approximately 350,000 deportations in the first year of Trump’s return to office. By comparison, the Obama administration deported 962,000 people in fiscal year 2009; during the final fiscal year of the Biden administration, the Department of Homeland Security deported 778,000 people.

The  evilTrump administration claims that the president’s high-profile crackdown has led to fewer encounters at the southern border and to more undocumented immigrants voluntarily leaving the country — claims that are believable but are not backed up with proof from the opaque administration. But, it seems that Trump’s efforts are focused on an illusion of strength rather than effectiveness.

That illusion reportedly includes the use of deceptive tactics in Clark County, in Washington state.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (evil ICE) agents have worn uniforms designed to look local law enforcement or labels identifying them as a “corrections officer.” In the Portland, Oregon area, federal agents reportedly have worn vests that make them appear to be utility workers and have used subterfuge to lure residents outside.

“In these times, clear communication and trust are more important than ever,” Vancouver Police Chief Troy Price said in a December video. “I want to ensure every member of our community can easily identify officers from the Vancouver Police Department.”

Such deception can make it more difficult for local law enforcement officers to do their job while also diminishing public trust.

The Vancouver Washington City Council this week formally condemned the tactics of federal agents, saying that enforcement “has caused demonstrable harm and destabilization.” That such a statement is necessary would be inconceivable under an ethical administration.

While it is necessary to enforce immigration law, the administration appears disinterested in following established legal norms. That includes the recent revelation of an ICE memo insisting that agents have the power to forcibly enter homes without a court warrant — a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment. It also includes the administration’s campaign to void thousands of asylum cases from people who have attempted to follow the process for legal residency.

Such policies give license for enforcement agents to ignore the law in carrying out the will of Donald Trump, who is more interested in political theater than effective enforcement.

And those policies imply that the ends — the unlawful deportation of undocumented immigrants — justify the means, regardless of the level of callousness, or deception or secrecy. It is a wholly un-American position and one that should give pause to all Americans. (Maine Writer:  Any American risks being labeled as a  "domestic terrorist"❗)

Donald Trump is a terrible person, a selfish leader, a cheat, a convicted criminal and the Republicans must impeach him!

Republicans must impeach Donald Trump.

Echo opinion Letter: Trump demonstrates hypocrisy published in The Columbian "Sp. I am confused. Donald Trump called the peaceful protests against the military occupation of cities like Portland Oregon unlawful, disgraceful and un-American and said the protesters should be jailed and treated harshly, yet he is willing to involve the U.S. in action against the Iran government for their treatment of Iranians’ protest against the mismanagement of finances in Iran."

Law and Order: Critics point out that while Trump often presents himself as the candidate of "law and order," he has pardoned individuals involved in the January 6th Capitol attack and refers to them as "patriots," which is a contradiction to his emphasis on respecting law enforcement and the judicial system.

Personal Lifestyle vs. Populist Image Despite cultivating a populist image of representing everyday Americans, critics note his lavish lifestyle and use of his own properties for official business.

Commentators argue that the sheer volume of accusations and convictions against Donald Trump has led to a desensitization to the issue about political hypocrisy itself, which some view as a potential threat to democratic accountability.

Donald Trump and maga Republicans must stop the stupid intention to build another Navy battleship

So, stupid Donald Trump wants to build the world’s biggest battleship, named after himself, naturally. 🙄

❗

We all know that Donald Trump doesn’t like to or want to read very much,f so the lessons of history are completely lost to him.

Donald Trump has no idea about how to build ships. His idea of a new battleship will cause his stupid design to sink.

Opinion letter published in The Columbian newspaper in Vancouver, Washington: Apparently, the others in the dumb Trump administration are all in the same boat. By Terry E. Viertel, in Vancouver. "Trump ships doomed to sink".

They all don’t have any knowledge about the two largest and most heavily armed battleships of the 20th century, the Yamato and the Musashi purported to be unsinkable. They were both sunk in hours by the relatively crude, from our current perspective, airplanes of the time. The Trump boondoggle will face far more sophisticated and deadly aircraft and submarines. It will be lucky to last hours. I wonder ❓how much 💲money the Trump family will skim off in awarding the contracts and then during construction if it ever gets built.💢

Americans need leaders with courage, integrity, vision and a willingness to united our Trumpian Republican maga divided nation

During Abraham Lincoln’s first inaugural address in March 1861, he was desperately wishing to avoid a civil war. Lincoln said, “We are not enemies, but friends. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.”

In Lincoln’s second inaugural address, just 41 days before his assassination at the Ford's Theater in Washington DC, the president spoke about the difficulties of reconstruction and the process of restoring the seceded states to the Union.

Lincoln’s message emphasized healing rather than vengeance toward the South. He called on all citizens to “bind up the nation’s wounds, with malice toward none and charity for all.”

Trump is cruel to exploit the nation's divisions: Opinion letter published in The Columbian, news By Ken Simpson, Vancouver, Washington state (Clark County Washington).

My sentiment of needing another Abraham Lincoln today refers to a longing for his leadership qualities, such as his courage, integrity, vision and willingness to unite a divided nation.

Donald Trump has a history of comparing himself to Abraham Lincoln. But Lincoln’s historical image as a unifying figure contrasts with Donald’s polarizing style. Lincoln used words to inspire and heal. Trump’s words hurt the ears and the heart.

Honest Abe wanted to hold the country together. Donald does the opposite. He is working toward creating a division that serves as a basis for his rule.

Donald Trump hell bent on a cruelty campaign to raise tax revenue with tariffs while average Americans pay the cost

Tariffs....If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck....guess what?
"Like putting lipstick on a pig",
🐷as Sarah Palin would say.
(She gets the broken clock ⏰award for that one...a perfect description of a tariff.)
A tariff is a tax dressed up like a duck.
🦆

Echo opinion letter published in The Colombian newspaper, by Gary Zacny, in Vancouver, Washington.

A tariff is a sneak tax. Just like a garden-variety tax, it results in money being taken from citizens (or consumers) and deposited in government coffers.

Unlike a regular tax, a tariff allows the government to pretend that the money will be paid by exporters, the firms that sell and send goods to our nation.

But the exporters will not pay the tariffs with their own funds — instead, they will raise prices to offset the expense, and those inflated prices will be paid by consumers.

In the end, ordinary people will have less to spend and the government will have more.

Perhaps the government needs more money, perhaps we as a nation need to spend less on pizza and more on munitions, perhaps we need to pay off the enormous, debilitating national debt.

If the nation needs more taxes, the government is right to demand more. Only don’t be sneaky about it. (Tax the 💲💵rich!)

Republicans will do a favor for themselves and their cult leader Trump by rejecting unqualified cabinet nominees

Echo opinion published in The Columbian a Vancouver, Washington newspaper, by Carl P. Leubsdorf is a columnist for the Dallas Morning News

Even Trump's (grade of "C") - more of less best choices, like Secretary of State-designee Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary-designee Scott Bessent and Agriculture Secretary-designee Brooke Rollins, earned their jobs by their fealty to Trump. Rubio and Bessent abandoned past positions on Ukraine and tariffs, respectively, to bring their views in line with his.

Most won’t encounter confirmation problems.
Unfortunately, however, their level of expertise and competence is not matched by Trump’s choices for Secretary of Defense, Director of National Intelligence, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Secretary of Education and director of the FBI.
The Republicans in the House and Senate will lose nothing if they impeach Trump. At a time with the GOP has a political majority in all three branches of government, this is the pefect time to declare him to be incompetent❗

Each is a strong candidate for rejection. Here’s why:
  • Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth — National Guard service, even on active duty, is no qualification to run the sprawling Pentagon. And the Fox (Fake❗)News anchor’s denigration of women in the military and history of questionable sexual conduct should disqualify him at a time the Pentagon is coping with these issues. His standing took a new hit with the release of emails in which his own mother called out his history of sexual misconduct. “I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around and uses women for his own power and ego,” she wrote in the 2018 email which The New York Times obtained from an unnamed family member. In addition, a lengthy review of Hegseth’s record by The New Yorker’s Jane Mayer disclosed allegations of financial and personal misconduct in several prior positions.
  • Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard — Between her questionable ties to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and statements echoing Russian criticism of the U.S. role in Ukraine, the former Hawaii Democratic congresswoman would seem like an especially bad choice to manage the nation’s most sensitive secrets.
  • Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — When Trump rewarded Kennedy for his support by naming him to “run wild” over the nation’s health programs, he opened a pandora’s box that could threaten the very health of Americans he has vowed to improve. Not only has Kennedy denigrated the need for childhood vaccinations, he is yet another nominee with a history of sexual misconduct.
  • Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon — The former president of World Wrestling Entertainment and his first term Small Business Administrator also has sexual misconduct issues. A lawsuit accuses McMahon and her husband, WWE founder Vince McMahon, of ignoring alleged sexual abuse by a WWE employee against teenaged boys. In 2010, she resigned from the Connecticut State Board of Education after the Hartford Courant reported she misrepresented her education qualifications.
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation director — Trump plans to demand the resignation of FBI Director Christopher Wray, a Republican he appointed after firing his predecessor, and install Trump loyalist and fierce FBI critic Kash Patel, a major perpetrator of the falsehood that Ukraine, not Russia ❓, tried to influence the 2016, election. Patel has labeled the FBI “a threat to the American people.”
Because the Senate’s 47 Democrats will likely line up against most of Trump’s most questionable nominees, it will take at least four Republicans to defeat them. These confirmation votes will test how seriously the Senate plans to maintain its constitutional role in the Trump years.

Senate rejection would actually do the president-elect a favor. Some of the nominees would only cause Trump (what goes around comes around) grief, if they’re confirmed.

Senate Republicans! GOP Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Trump's incompetent cabinet nominees are not qualified

Reject unqualified nominees  echo opinion letter to The Columbian a newspaper published in Vancouver, Washington, by Mark Bickley, in Ridgefield, Washington.
Trump is incompetent and he is dragging down the Republican "Grand Old Party" just because he can.

To the Editor:  Most Americans capable of critical thinking realize that no president can be fully knowledgeable and competent in every domestic and foreign arena. We ought to be at least as interested in Cabinet picks as we are the president.

Thus far, we all ought to be very concerned. Donald Trump has again shown us that he primarily values television personalities and those who avow loyalty, fealty and subservience to him.

I am a 72-year-old male with strong conservative bona fides; born and raised in Idaho, graduate of a Christian college and a career spent in the pharmaceutical industry. I have spent my life confident in our American democracy. That has all changed in recent years as we have seen virtually every norm shattered by arguably the most ignorant, amoral, corruptible, narcissistic and authoritarian-leaning person to ever occupy the Oval Office.

Several of Trump’s Cabinet picks are among the least qualified and possibly dangerous our republic has ever faced. Here’s hoping our Senate will not approve Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Having said this, I doubt that the Republican-controlled Senate can now find anything resembling integrity, character, judgment and backbone. Good luck, America!
Expect a major stock market correction early in the Trumpzi administration because thie idiot has zero economic policy and the cost of "groceries" (a word he just learned, spelled with 9 letters and three syllables) 💰will not be going down.

Republicans like Speaker Mike Johnson must be reminded about why Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 felonies i.e. sex cover up

Opinion letter echo: Trump is guilty — period❗ Published in The Columbian.

Trump was found guilty of 34 acts of felony — period! He was convicted of falsification of business records because he paid illegal hush money to Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet about their sexual encounter.

What Trump did is a felony in New York. On July 11, Trump will be sentenced. I highly doubt that he will be sent to jail. Probation? Probably.
Now the Republican politicians are doing what I thought they would do — whining and blaming everyone they can think of by making false statements about the prosecution, against Judge Merchan, the jury and even President Joe Biden.

Republican reality check! President Biden had nothing to do with this case. It is a state prosecution not federal; 12 independent jurors found him guilty. Biden didn’t know them

This all started with Trump cheating on his wife multiple times with a porn star and a Playboy model. Republican politicians won’t mention that.

Donald Trump is a traitor! He tried everything he could to overturn a legal election

Trump cult supporters are the problem, an echo opionion letter from Norm Hanson, in Vancover, BC, published in The Columbian newspaper:

In 2020, Donald Trump tried everything he could think of to deny the will of the voters and illegally attempted stay in power. (IOW "insurrection"!)

In a final act of desperation, former guy President Trump, on January 6th, sent a mob to murder our leaders and destroy our republic. This traitor tried to steal our country from us❗

But the problem with "Citizen Trump" is also his right wing cult supporters.

In a country that prides itself on electing leaders, former guy Citizen Trump said, in 2016, “I will accept the results of the election if I win,” telling us that he alone will decide who our leader will be; 74 million Americans heard this un-American remark and (unbelievably❗)  still voted 😡for him.

On January 6, 2021, 147 congressional Republicans voted to throw out the votes of millions in two states, based on a transparent lie.

Republican leaders have publicly advocated for disregarding court decisions and referendums with which they disagree; after Trump called for the execution ❗of the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, threatened to “terminate” the Constitution and labeled those who disagree with his politics “vermin” who should be “rooted out,” his supporters loved him all the more.

How thin is their professed love for America, that they would so easily jettison the freedoms that define our country? #VoteBlue2024

Republicans working hard to be right wing creepy

Echo opinion letter published in The Columbian newspaper.

Ever since Ronald Reagan declared that “government is the problem,” the Republican Party has been hard at work to make it so. The attempted insurrectionist coup on January 6, 2021, and the fiasco in the House of Representatives trying to elect an extremist right wing speaker are two glaring illustrations about the Republicans' determination to undermine and, eventually, destroy democracy.
The conspiracy theories and accusations that Democrats are “the enemy” and not so subtle urging to their right wing fringiest members to take action inserts a whole new level of creepy to their cause. They embrace white supremacists, nationalists and anarchists as tools to wield against the government and blatantly idolize dictators the likes of Hitler, Putin, Erdogan and Pinochet. It appears the goal is to become exactly that.

The incoming legislators — if they can ever agree on a leader — have only one agenda: to investigate the Biden family, the January 6 committee members and anyone else they can scapegoat while doing nothing to improve the lives of Americans.

Plans to eliminate Social Security, Medicare, public schools and all social safety nets are the next extremist targets.

The Republican Party may not be dead yet, but it certainly seems to be breathing its last breaths.
