Donald Trump has political bone spurs and he cannot relate to veterans

Donald Trump has zero connection with veterans.

Although Trumpzi zealots will rally to wrongminded messages about putting innocent immigrants in horrible cages and they hear dog whistles about racicst "law and order" euphamisms, the fact is, Trump has no appeal to veterans.

Echo opinion letter published in the St. Louis Missouri Post Gazette: Donald Trump has betrayed our military troops and must resign.

Donald Trump is losing votes!!
Regarding “Russian bounties further strain Trump’s bond with veterans” (July 1): President Donald Trump, the commander-in-chief, has failed to support our troops, and I feel he has stabbed them in the back. He was alerted last year and briefed months ago that Russia had put bounties on our service men and women in Afghanistan. His response is to say “fake news” and also to try to allow Russian participation in the G7. Instead of standing up for our troops, he has tried to help the enemy.

No response at all would have been cowardly. To try to boost the status of the offending country is a direct insult to our military. This very weak and terrible commander-in-chief should resign immediately.

Protect yourself and others: Coronavirus is dangerous!

Echo opinion letter published in the St. Louis Post Dispatch

#WearAMask
Sometimes Americans’ self-centeredness can be tragic. Mary Mallon (1869-1938) was an asymptomatic carrier of typhoid in New York City. She sickened hundreds and killed at least several people. The government response was to quarantine her against her will in 1907 and 1915. Eventually, “Typhoid Mary” was institutionalized because she kept working as a cook and reinfecting people. I see a parallel in today’s pandemic.

Some people refuse to wear masks,
claiming it violates their rights. If someone was driving 80 mph through town, would that person be endangering other people’s lives? Of course. The person could very easily kill people and possibly go to prison. People who refuse to wear a mask to protect other people are those reckless drivers.

People should be fined for not wearing a mask in public.
Coronavirus case numbers are accelerating. It’s killing more than 2,000 people a day. Many survivors’ health may be permanently damaged. Independence and rights are one thing. Careless, selfish recklessness is another. Where is your concern for your fellow man? Wear your masks. (Maine Writer: And frequently wash your hands!)  From Bruce Dawson • Taylorville, Illinois
