No employer I know of would hire a person who was charged with crimes in three states and in the District of Columbia

To the editor published in the Los Angeles Times: The former guy Trump’s response to his first criminal indictment in April was, “I never thought anything like this could happen in America.”

This is what never should have happened in America: a president who swore to protect and defend the Constitution seeking to tear apart the very democracy that document created.

Now the subject of four indictments, the latest in Georgia, Trump is accused of trying to overturn the results of a fair and legitimate election by perpetuating the big lie that he had won in 2020, even though former aides have said he privately admitted he had lost. 

This lie led to his insurrectionist supporters to attack

 the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to block the peaceful transfer of power.

"Hang Mike Pence"!  Question?  Who paid for this gallows❓

Trump’s actions constituted an effort to deny the rights of millions of Americans to have their votes counted and were an affront to the principles of our precious democracy, a disgrace to our country and an embarrassment to the world.

This should never have happened in America ❗

Representative Kevin McCarthy is a Big Lie puppet

Letter to the editor published in Rep. Kevin McCarthy's hometown newspaper, the Bakersfield Californian (Bakersfield.com), from a constituent and resident of Kern County, California. #RepublicansAreTheProblem!

Maine Writer: Representative Kevin McCarthy reminds me of the classic "he's alive, he's alive!", chant from Shelley's Frankenstein.  "Charlie McCarthy" was a puppet and Rep. McCarthy seems to have given proof to Shelley's classic prose.  Indeed, McCarthy is now a puppet that speaks for #FormerGuy.
McCarthy is proof that monsters really do exist.

Dear Editor:  This letter is written to express my concern about how Rep. Kevin McCarthy is behaving as the leader of the GOP representatives in the U.S. House. What he has done and continues to do along with his GOP colleagues undermines our Democratic Republic and Constitution. His, and their, support of former President Trump’s Big Lie as well as trying to overturn the 2020 election are so contrary to what our country stands for and what I risked my life for, as have thousands of others.

As a child, my family lived at Vestal Edison Company Substation and my siblings and I attended Ducor Elementary School. After my sixth grade year we moved to Delano for three years, then to Ventura where I graduated from high school. After serving as a infantryman in the Marine Corps, including a tour in Vietnam, I attended Ventura College and Fresno State University where my wife and I obtained our degrees.

I do not understand how the good people of Kern County can, in good conscience, continue to vote for someone who is so obviously un-American and is quite possibly bent upon destroying our country by supporting unfounded conspiracies. He and they are doing this while denigrating GOP colleagues like Congresswoman Liz Cheney who, I believe, is a much better leader and representative of her constituents than is Rep. McCarthy. He is a prime example of why term limits need to be seriously considered for elected officials.
