Donald Trump and maga Republicans must put an end to verbal slander against women journalists

Letters to the Editor: We can’t let ourselves become desensitized to Trump’s hostility toward women❗ Echo letter to the editor of the Los Angeles Times: It’s an ugly and unfortunate sign of our times that Donald Trump acting as the president of the United States is viciously attacking a reporter’s reasonable question by snapping “Quiet, piggy”. This horrible attack must generate more substantial nationwide condemnation.
Trump's slander suggests we’re becoming desensitized to the ugliness spewed by the president.

Columnist Anita Chabria wrote a brilliant analysis of this issue (“‘Quiet, piggy’ wasn’t a joke. It’s a dangerous invitation to violence,” Nov. 21).

Donald Trump’s shocking and extremely ugly insult to this female reporter is simply the latest in a long line of his personal attacks on women. His go-to insults are to call a woman “very low IQ” (particularly when insulting a woman of color) or calling women “nasty” or “terrible.”

Like it or not, Trump’s conduct (like the conduct of all past presidents) sets an example for young people. Do we really want Trump’s aberrant behavior modeled by a generation of young men
❓ Do we want that behavior to be inflicted on our wives and daughters ❓❗ (
By not more loudly condemning Trump’s appalling behaviors, we appear to be indifferent to them, or even condoning them.

What kind of a dangerous society are we then creating for women and young girls in this country❓

Donald Trump and MAGA extremists burdened their own voter base with the unfair stigma of being Medicaid beneficiaries

To the editor of the Los Angeles Times: What I find weird about Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins’ assertion that migrant laborers can simply be replaced by automation and Medicaid recipients is not just the underlying cruelty expressed toward both hardworking immigrant laborers and Medicaid recipients, nor is it the shocking ignorance (“Trump official suggests Medicaid recipients, automation can replace immigrant workers. California farmers disagree,” July 9).

What I find unusual is the apparent assumption by Donald Trump and his “brain trust” that “able-bodied adults on Medicaid” are all people outside of his very base. From a purely political perspective, it’s the only way I can make sense of Rollins’ proposal. I hate to be the bearer of bad news to Trump’s team, but according to current statistics, the largest group of Medicaid recipients in the U.S. are white non-Hispanics (estimated to be 39.6% of all recipients). A majority 55% of white voters cast ballots for Trump in the 2024 election. This means that of Medicaid recipients, who are registered voters, it’s not unreasonable to assume that a large portion are Trump voters. 😔😖😓

Trump and his administration’s seeming indifference to subjecting Medicaid recipients who may happen to be GOP voters to the type of contempt and cruelty they normally reserve for immigrants and people of color tells me that they (as is often the case) might not have considered the consequences of their proposals on their own voters. And in this case, it seems to me that this particular lack of judgment is like a rogue torpedo fired by the Trump administration that is headed right back at the GOP. It will be interesting to see how this affects the midterm elections.  (Maine Writer post script....assuming there are "mid term elections"....scary what Trump might do to call them off by creating some mythical situation.)

Donald Trump campaigned about mass deportations but instead he is guilty or mass firing thousands of hard working Americans! #WWWTP?

Angered by Trump's Actions an echo opinion letter published in Agoura Hills, California, Thousand Oaks Acorn news.

This opinion letter is written because the writer cannot allow recent events in Washington D.C. and the world pass without making a comment of complaint.

It's unbelievable, but the current resident in the White House continues to destroy our government, but our federal departments of thousands of employees overnight, place someone media claims to be an alcoholic in charge of the Department of Defense, fire most of the general staff members and turn a billonaire major campaign donor loose with a group of college kids to obtain our secret and pesonal information, without any authority to do so.

Now, Trump has ambushed one of our European allies in the White House, President Zelenskyy, by verbally attacking him, threatens insults and belittles the leaders of the Ukraine in front of the world, including in front of Russian media, despite the White House saying the journalist was not authorized to be in the press pool. 💥😡

All this while Trump and VP (former Marine corporal) JD Vance used tag-team tactics to inslut our international leader President Zelenskyy. Now, the Republican Party is pushing to leave the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), comething Trump wanted to do in his first term in the White House. This has been the Russian dream for 80 years, come true.

European countries have finally woken up to the fact that under the current regime in Washington D.C., the U.S. is no longer the leader of the free world.

For 80 years, NATO has kept the peace in Europe until 2024, when Russia invaded the Ukraine. No sane American president would put people in charge of important federal positions who are incompetent and not investigated by security or intelligence departments, and eliminate almost all the senior staff in all the government.

Sadly, the Armed Services have been crippled by losing all the best senior leaders. Can you imagine how lucrative this is for China and Russia to move against our allies in Asia and Europe, or for that matter, anywhere in the world?

Thie same group in Washington is about to start a trade war with the world and attack our hard earned Social Security and Medicare.

I am beginning to believe that Putin must have something on Trump.
