Speaker of the House candidate evidently can't "speak"

Are Republicans about to elect a Speaker of the House who can't speak?

Republicans want to create a brahaha about Hillary Clinton, but they're putting their House "speaker" focus on the wrong person to talk about their obsessive muckraking of the issues. If Republicans believe they can undo Hllary Clinton's presidential candidacy, they'll soon hire the wrong person to do the speaking. "We put together a special Benghazi committee,....she's 'untrustable'",says the potential speaker, a man who obviusly can't speak.  (McCarthy calls Hungary "Hungria". Clearly, he never took "geo-grahia", .in school.)

Congressman Kevin McCarthy wants to be House Speaker, but his "speaking" is un-understandable

In fact, McCarthy quickly revealed the farce of the Benghazi committee.  It was created to undermine Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's presidential candidacy. Republicans don't care about facts, unless the information perpetrates their muckraking.

McCarthy, the man who wants to be the "Speaker" of the House, spoke the truth today to Fox News. He said the Benghazi committee was created to undermine Secretary Clinton and to create her as a person who is "untrustable"?  I'd say Congressman McCarthy is "un-understandable". (Wow! How will Fox News defend this McCarthy truth? They're media is so into perpetrating lies, they just "can't handle the truth").

In fact, there's no more information to learn about the sadly deadly attack in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, unless the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) chooses to reveal something new. Inserting my own side bar here, why has no one ever told us, during all these useless investigations, about why it was that Ambassador Stevens left the Embassy in Libya to travel to Benghazi, in the first place? No one has ever answered that question. Ambassador Stevens left the US Embassy for a reason. He didn't go out on a daily exercise regimen. Yet, no one has explained what he was doing in Benghazi.

Additionally, there are no email messages in Hillary Clinton's home server with damaging information. She didn't give any information to anyone who was unauthorized to receive her email.  (General David Petreaus, on the other hand, gave intelligence information to his mistress, Paula Broadwell. He didn't even have a court martial.)

Republicans are doing a dangerous dance by continuing to play political games with our government  They invent issues, like trying to shut down the government, because they don't want to fund Planned Parenthood?  Oh paaaaleeze! Republicans have been shutting down the government at every chance they get and it's always backfired on them. Nevertheless, they've created turmoil, regardless of how their useless energies have damaged our international credibility or hurt our nation's internal interests. People depend on government, but Republicans just don't care.

Governor Bobby Jindal, Republican of Louisiana, gave the label of "stupid party" to his political colleagues. Well, guess what? As the Republican President, Ronald Reagan said, "there you go again...".  Indeed, Republicans handed Hillary Clinton’s embattled campaign a gift after months of damage over the former Secretary of State’s use of a private email server.

Kevin McCarthy, the House majority leader and a candidate to replace John Boehner as Speaker of the House, credited the House Benghazi Committee with lowering Clinton’s poll numbers, a gaffe that undermines Republicans’ claim that the committee is a nonpartisan investigation. (Anybody who believes that certainly deserves to be card carrying members of the "stupid party".)

“Everybody though Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?” McCarthy said in an interview with Fox News. “But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she’s untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened, had we not fought.”

Nevertheless, regardless of how Congressman McCarthy wants to create un-understandable narrative about Hillary Clinton, the job he is seeking as Speaker of the House requires for him to "speak".  Moreover, the Speaker of the House must also lead.

If Congressman McCarthy can't speak, then he will become the laughing stock "Saturday Night Live" caricature of all Republicans.

Obviously, Congressman McCarthy is unqualified to be Speaker of the House.  He can't even correctly pronounce the name of foreign countries, like "Hungria".

McCarthy's un-understandable speaking abilities, will never be able to lead our US House of Representatives.

House Republicans must be on notice tonight. They need to find another candidate to be Speaker of the House.

In fact, the Republcians must find a person who can pass a 4th grade geography test, and put an end to the witch hunts called "Benghazi" and the non news "email news", plus keep the government open.

I nominate retiring Ohio Congressman John Boehner for the job.

Hillary Clinton campaign education 101

Mrs. Clinton is brilliant but she needs a lifeline right now.

A biography of Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton is among the talented list of notables in the National Women's History Museum.

Obviously, Mrs. Clinton qualifies to be on this prestigious list.

She's the First Lady of the World in recognition of her humanitarian work and foreign policy leadership as Secretary of Sate, for being a wonderful US Senator from New York and, most notably, for being the First Lady  of the United States with her husband President Clinton.

Nevertheless, Mrs. Clinton, somehow, lost the political advisers she has needed to listen to when it comes to her campaign to become the first qualified (by education and experience) woman president of the United States and Leader of the Free World.

Naturally, I'm not a political adviser; but using some common sense strategies, I put forth these three ideas the help Mrs. Clinton with her current communications challenges.

Unfortunately, she's facing relentless Republican witch  hunting about her email server. Moreover, her political enemies continue to sweep up about the Benghazi, Libya attack, where Ambassador Stevens was murdered on September 11, 2012, along with members of his security team.

Therefore, here are my three Campaign Education 101 syllabus bullets:

1.  It's the Economy stupid!  As often as the Republicans bring out their attack dogs, it's up to the Clinton team to respond with reminders of how electrified the economy was during her husband's presidential administration. "It's the economy stupid" "rose all ships", so to speak, when high economic tides even transcended her husband's plight with planted scandals including accusing them of murdering their colleage Vince Foster, who committed suicide.  Remember, "it's the economy stupid" montra.

2.  Go to church. In fact, go to any church.  Try the Washington National Cathedral.  President Clinton often attended church even during the peak of his scandals. We haven't seen Mrs. Clinton in church for a long time (the sad funeral Mass for Vice President Biden's son, Beau Biden, notwithstanding - but that looked to be more political than spiritual).

3.  Visit the graves at Arlington Cemetery in Virginia, and specifically pay respects to the headstones of people who died in the Iraq War - remind Americans by example of how costly  the Iraq Wars and the failed Operation Iraqi Freedom were to our nation's young warriors and it's not over yet. In fact, it may be her war to end and she's the only candidate running for president who is qualified by education and experience to end the relentless failure of the Iraq Wars.

Only one candidate running for president is qualified to be the Leader of the Free World. By her exceptional leadership, training, education and experience, that one candidate is Mrs. Hillary Clinton. Nevertheless, in spite of her enormous popularity, international name recognition and personal talents with politics, Mrs. Clinton is unable to resolve the communications frenzy surrounding her email server.

It's my uninformed opinion that the messages on her email server contained the kind of information news media relishes in putting on their front pages to grab readers. It was low level stuff.  Yet, the fact is, she's unable to change the conversation.

Hopefully, somebody in Mrs. Clinton's team of advisers will take seriously the advice of one nurse in Maine, who thinks she can do no harm by looking at the three campaign education 101 bullets I've put forth in this blog.  Good luck.

Right Wing Political Obsessions

Through a series of humanitarian crises consuming many world nations, one right wing constant we can count on, in spite of human suffering. We can rely on right wing media like Fox News and Rush (Bimbaugh) Limbaugh to push the negativity neurons in the brains of their followers, to create myths from truths and divert attention away from improving the human condition.

Here are the top three examples of right wing obsessions, where facts don't matter, but media ratings trump truth:

1.  Benghazi, Libya September 11, 2012:  For reasons unknown, US Ambassador Stevens left the security of the the embassy in Tripoli, Libya and, as a result, he was tragically killed in a firefight in Benghazi. Stevens was the first U.S. Ambassador since 1979, killed on duty. Right wing media have created myths and legends about this incident to discredit Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Truth doesn't matter to right wing media when obsession creates higher ratings. Regardless of hundreds of media hours spent sensationalizing this truly tragic incident, and in spite of bringing emotional harm to the families of the victims of the killings, the right wing continues to obsess over this tragedy. Meanwhile, nothing new has been revealed in the myth making and American voters stopped listening. Nevertheless, this story takes up right wing air time, so the myth making rants continue, without truth.

2.  Taliban prisoner exchange to free Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl: Right wing media joined by Senator John McCain were obsessed by criticizing President Barack Obama for being unable to free Sergeant Bergdahl, who was held a prisoner by the Taliban for 5 torturous years. Surprisingly, the calls for Bergdahl's release turned foul when President Obama negotiated the soldier's release by freeing five ugly old Taliban terrorists who were held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for 13 years, without a trial. Right wing media abruptly screeched about the exchange deal, and labeled the sergeant as a traitor, a horrible trumped up accusation, without evidence. Throughout this reversal, right wing media used hearsay and tangential information to put Sergeant Bergdahl on trial about his motivation for leaving his base, an act which obviously resulted in his capture. There isn't a civilian or military court in the nation that could convict Sergeant Bergdahl of any crime, like being a traitor, given the third hand information currently used by right wing media to wrongly accuse the soldier, without a trial. More than likely, the right wing obsession about the Bergdahl prisoner exchange is obstructing the chance for a fair assessment of the soldier's situation.

3.  Immigration reform - right wing media is obsessed with blocking immigration reform. This obstruction continues, in spite of every one of those obstructing progress being the descendants of immigrants. Obviously, the right wing isn't obsessed with the Statue of Liberty's poem by Emma Lazarus: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send these the homeless, tempest toss to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

Instead of reacting to facts about the Benghazi attacks or Sergeant Bergdahl's tragic captivity, the right wing prefers to invent information for the purpose of sensationalizing the news.

In obstructing immigration reform, the right wing creates unjustified fear about how foreigners will impact on social services, welfare and "take American jobs". Unfortunately, the anti-immigration reform obsession is causing harm to people who live in fear of being dumped back into dangerous Mexico, regardless of how hard they work to earn the American dream.

For unexplained reasons, right wing obsessions are growing among those who feed on myths, lies and negativity. Which is all the more reason why it's irresponsible for right wing media to continue fueling these obsessions - because the myths eventually become the lies people believe.

Making matters worse, the print media is becoming less effective at informing people with facts. Main stream media simply can't keep up with the volume of right wing misinformation.

Americans are more politically divided than ever, a situation likely influenced because main stream journalism is loosing out to the competition for ratings by polarizing media. There's probably only one way to reverse this disturbing divide. Americans must ask right wing media if their myth creations would stand up to the scrutiny of a jury trial, before believing the obsession driven news. Otherwise, our nation won't just be divided by the colors of "red states" and "blue states", but will expand to include "truth states" and "myth states".

Romney Leadership Is Tested by Adversity

Romney's outrageous press release about the tragic situation in Libya demonstrates a serious lack of leadership skills. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/romney-under-friendly-fire-response-libyan-embassy-attack-213729383--election.html

Romney reacted, rather than led, when his campaign sent out an accusatory press release without waiting for facts about the horrible Libyan incident, where Ambassador Stevens was killed by violence, perpetrated by radical Islamists, supposedly opposing a cheap anti Muslim Internet film.
I doubt Romney knew that our Ambassador was dead when his campaign released the late night statement. Although Romney had the opportunity to affirm condolences about the tragedy, he chose, instead, to stir up anger and discontent.

Great leaders do not stir up discontent during a crises. Rather, great leaders articulate the emotions of historical moments. Winston Churchill, of course, is one of history's greatest examples of an articulate leader, who affirmed the resolve of the English people during World War II.

Romney failed his leadership moment when he criticized the ongoing volatile situation in Libya, criticizing the Obama administration for a comment from the American Egyptian embassy in Cairo, even while the outcome of the violence was unknown. A startling press release went to media outlets without affirming the sadness people felt over the loss of our diplomatic personnel by a violent mob of protesters.

An example of leadership came from Senator John McCain who affirmed the moment by extending his heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Ambassador Stevens. Although Senator McCain advocates for more military involvement in the Middle East, he began his criticism of the Obama administration with an outpouring of praise for the late Ambassador Stevens.

http://leanforward.msnbc.com/_news/2012/09/12/13836334-watch-john-mccain-on-amb-chris-stevenss-death-i-have-lost-a-friend?lite
Even as Senator McCain mourns the loss of his friend Ambassador Stevens, he provides some insight to how he would handle the situation that ignited the Libyan incident. The issue is not about a statement that came out of the Egyptian embassy during a street demonstration. It's about what our nation's level of involvment in the Middle East. Romney just doesn't get that.

Governor Romney must learn that being an American leader is not like running a venture capitalist firm where management controls financial transactions to generate profit for investors.

It's time Romney learns political leadership, but Americans certainly can't afford to pay for his on the job training.

Regardless of how Americans feel about Middle East foreign relations, the fact is, the more we involve ourselves in this region of the world, the more the population appears to mistrust our intentions.

The loss of Ambassador Stevens is obviously a setback to America's ability to grow trust among Middle East leaders. He was probably targeted because extremists don't want a resolution to political turmoil, unless it means the return of radical Islamists. Perhaps, he was killed in revenge by Al Qaeda for the killing of their leaders by American drones.

But Romney should have affirmed Ambassador Stevens and his value as an experienced and dedicated diplomat, before using the tragedy, where he was killed in the service of our country, to make Presidential election news.

Romney has led a privileged life as a career chief executive officer. Clearly, his leadership has not been tested by adversity.
