Gilded obscenity

In this moment when everyday Americans are struggling to buy a dozen eggs and coffee is doubled in price and unaffordable, Donald Trump's big dollar "home remodel" of the White House does beg a number of questions, but one stands out: Who's paying the bill❓ "The Donald" is suggesting that he and some wealthy friends will bear the burden personally. Well ... if this politics gig doesn't work out for him, the man has a promising career in standup comedy on the back burner. 

Donald Trump would be a laugh a minute sensation, if he was a vaudeville performer. I can't speak for his unnamed rich buddies, but the last time Trump reached into a pocket to pick up a tab, he impaled a finger on a fishhook. 

Come on❗ We're all adults here. In one way or another, we, the people, are going to underwrite this grotesque vanity project. 

It's just another "reverse Robin Hood" move by Donny and the current iteration of the GOP. They rob the poor to give to the rich, who grow meaner, more insulated and more powerful every day. And then − in an act of spectacularly blatant arrogance − they attach a gilded obscenity to The White House.
