Pope Frances called deliberate targeting of migrants a "serious sin". This is a very serious consequence in Catholic belief

Pope Francis defended migrants against those who target them

Main stream media must report on the last Easter Sunday message he delivered to crowds gathered in St. Peter's Square.  Instead of reporting on his "last words" the media must focus on his last message to the world.
Pope Francis, was born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, in Argentina, 1936- died April 21, 2025 in Vatican City, Italy.

Seattle Times by David Horsey: IN THE NEWS: Just hours before his death, Pope Francis appeared on the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica to deliver his Easter Sunday message to the throng below and to the wider world. His message reiterated his perennial defense of migrants and other marginalized human beings, the kind of people being lawlessly targeted by the Trump administration.

In a similar event in St. Peter’s Square last August, the pope was even more direct when he declared, “There are those who systematically work by all means to drive away migrants, and this, when done knowingly and deliberately, is a grave sin.”

Reported in EuroNews by Andrew Naughtie: Pope Frances frequently expressed a personal identification with the poor and was known for speaking up for refugees and people displaced by conflict.

During the 2015, migration crisis, which saw a surge in dangerous and deadly crossings to Europe over the Mediterranean, Pope Francis announced that the Vatican would take in two refugee families and called on Catholics to offer their help as well.
