Darkeness in America- Ronald Reagan would never recognize us
Opinion letter published in The New York Times:
Immigrants coming to Ellis Island |
After more than eight years of watching and listening to Donald Trump’s vitriol, his lying, his relentless clawing at any and all soft underbellies, we said, “Yes, we want more.”
Trumpzi comes into power this time with an army of sycophants. He comes into power as the world writhes in discord and the planet itself is in peril. He comes into full power possibly having control of every lever of government. All because we said, “Yes, we want more.” (Maine Writer: Trumpzi just appointed a Nazti Tom Homan to be his Homeland Security czar and right wing diva Elise Stefanik to be the United Nations ambassador. What kind of a political marriage is that❓ Homan will be the equivilent of Heinrich Himmler and Stefanik will have to defend the Crimes Against Humanity to the internatational forum at the United Nations.)
During this most recent campaign, I sometimes heard the words of Maya Angelou invoked: “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”
Well, America, you have shown us who we are. And it’s not a pretty sight.

Ronald Reagan's "morning in America" is now hidden in a permanent "total eclipse of the sun".
