Donald Trump is guilty of being a felon times 34 and unqualified to run for any elected office

Echo opinion letter:  It’s astonishing to think a felon could win presidency, Our Founding Fathers must be turning in their graves.

To say that I was happy to hear a *guilty verdict* in former President Donald Trump’s hush money (to cover up his sinful sexual encounter with Stormy Daniels) trial might be overstating it a bit.

Perhaps, a better respone could be  YES❗ Finally❗.

At last❗ This twice impeached, four-times indicted and now, convicted felon was held criminally accountable for his actions. Of course, now we will have to endure his endless tirades trashing the judge, the jury, the witnesses, and the justice system in general.

Ironically this is the very same justice system he will rely on to launch his appeal.

A larger irony certainly is that Trump can still run for president despite his conviction. If any one of us applied for a job as a convicted felon, in most cases we would be turned away. The astonishing reality that as a criminal Trump can still run for president and be elected is a terrifying prospect.

His supporters will say he’s been wronged. The multitude of indictments and impeachments tell a different story. They can’t all be wrong. Thou doth protest too much.

Apparently, the Founding Fathers didn’t think it necessary to include in the Constitution the prohibition of criminals serving as president. Most likely they couldn’t conceive of such a possibility.

Why state the obvious?  George Washington et al. are rolling over in their graves.
