Trump is disqualified to "hold any office, civil or military" 14th Amendment is clear
Echo opinion letter published in the Missoulian newpaper in Missoula Montana:
What is being appealed to SCOTUS from Colorado is Anderson v Griswold; a civil trial.
Trump is accused of aiding an insurrection and found guilty in that case. He was represented by lawyers, and received due process. He appealed. The Colorado Supreme Court upheld that conviction and also ruled the Presidency IS covered by the 14th’s disqualification clause. And now it’s going to SCOTUS. Trump's lawyers were Scott E. Gessler and Geoffrey N. Blue of Gessler Blue LLC. Y'all can google this. I’m tired of ignorant misstatements and outright lies that Donald Trump has NOT been convicted OR had due process. His case is on a rocket sled to the Supreme Court.
Trump is getting far more due process than any of us ever would!
The 14th Amendment is every bit as valid as the Second, or the 22nd, and that “hold any office, civil or military” eligibility and disqualification language of the 14th’s Section 3 seems very clear. What will the Supreme Court do? Who knows?
