Russia must be defeated in Ukraine- Otherwise Putin will continue
Echo opinion letter printed in My Journal Courier, a newspaper published in Jacksonville, Illinois.
I say the word "trying," as they have not gotten the job done and maybe they won’t be able to. The people of Ukraine are standing up for a free country.
Russia is attempting to take back Ukraine, which was once part of Russia. Putin is going after Ukraine and if successful would more than likely set his sights on other countries in the region. I would hope that our leaders and NATO would support that country 100% against the communist country attempting to overtake it.
We don’t know how fortunate we are to live in America. (Maine Writer: We cannot take our freedoms for granted.)
All people must pray for the suffering folks in the Ukraine, that they may be successful in defending their country from Putin's unprovoked aggression. It appears that many in Russia do not support the attempt to take over another country. Over 10,000 people have been arrested for peaceful demonstrating in Russia.
