Until now, I have been lukewarm on the subject of impeaching Donald Trump. I felt the best way to get rid of this cancer on our democracy was to vote him out of office.
No longer. This whistle blower episode, in which he used foreign aid as leverage to encourage Ukrainian officials to investigate a political adversary, shows that he will break the law in increasingly appalling ways until he is removed from office.
It is time for Congress to play the oversight role that is constitutionally defined for it. No more lame excuses from Republicans. No more dithering by Democrats. Do your damn job!
