Trump is seizing $3.6 billion in congressionally approved military construction funds to build 450 miles of wall in defiance of Congress, using the dubious national emergency he declared at the sotuehrn border as legal justification. That includes hundreds of millions of dollars alloted to build and renovate schools for children on American military bases. So far, most Republican lawmakers have sheepishley accepted Trump's blatant power grab. This sets a terrible precedent. Someday, A Democratic president will seize defense funds or farm subsidies for his or her own pet projects.
