Donald Trump name calling intended to invoke fear- echo from Oklahoma

An echo opinion letter published in Tulsa World, one of my favorite newspapers!

I am a fan of the newspaper Tulsa World, because the opinion page does not present a unilateral point of view.  As a matter of fact, political hope sometimes beams through some of the Oklahoma newspaper's editorial opinion articles, especially among the letters to the editor. Thank you Tusla World!  This echo opinion about Donald Trump, and his horrible name calling habit, is an example of a voice of reason, in our sad and politically polarized world.

From Jim Wolfe of Tulsa OK- At a young age, I was taught name-calling had no place in social discourse.

It is a technique used to invoke fear in the targeted person or group with the goal of creating negative opinion of those being attacked.

Name-callers are unwilling or incapable of rational, fact-based arguments. This is a tactic used by individuals who wish to devalue the other person or group. These are people unwilling or incapable of engaging in logical and intelligent debate.

Take the following:

Dumbo, crazy, sleepy, crooked, heartless, lyin', leakin', little, slimeball, shady, slippery, sneaky, flakey, lightweight, puppet, wacky, fat, cheatin', high crime, Mr. Peepers, the Nutty Professor, sleazy, pencil neck, cryin', fake tears, head clown, Mr. Magoo, dumb southerner, dumb as a rock, goofy, Pochantas, the Indian, low-IQ, dopey, little rocket man, mad, sloppy, irrelevant, failing, no talent, marbles in the mouth, wacky nut job, broken-down hack, dumbest man on television, sour lemon, psycho Joe, sleepy eyes, fake, enemy of the people, bozo, horseface, punchy, goofball, Miss Housekeeping, lowlife, tainted, 1% and wild Bill.

These names and numerous others have been used by Donald Trump to demean those with whom he disagrees.

Sadly, in the months to come, the list will continue to grow.

Name-calling can be heard in kindergarten classrooms but has no place in the White House. The president needs to grow up.
