Naturalization proudly heralded in El Paso Texas

Texas: El Paso Times news echo opinion letter:

This letter is in reference to a letter, submitted to the El Paso Times by Michael Perez from West El Paso on Dec. 9, concerning the flying of the U.S. flag outside of the El Paso County Coliseum during the recent U.S. Citizenship and Naturalization Service’s ceremony on Nov. 28 welcoming more than 800 of the nation’s newest citizens.

We certainly did have the U.S. flag flying during the ceremony in question, as we will at every citizenship ceremony that takes place at the Coliseum. We are respectful of this ceremony and process and are aware of the role that the Coliseum has in this emotional and special event.

The official flagpole, which flaunted an amazing 10-foot U.S. flag during the ceremony, is located on the north side of the Coliseum that faces Paisano Drive, which is the original front of the building. You also will see colorful banners displayed above the Coliseum Box Office, which is located on the east side of the building.

MaineWriter- Excellent response!
