Donald Trump cut an illegal deal to buy diesel fuel with Russian President Putin but thankfully Ukrainian drones blew up the fuel depot

Echo opinion letters published in the English newspaper "Telegraph"
Donald Trump’s dealings with Russia confirm that he is unfit to lead.

This is a creepy photograph because the evil between these two demonic leaders was captured by the camera lens.

SIR – The squalid deal struck by Donald Trump with Russia’s marauding Vladimir Putin (report, October 11) is contemptible. By channeling funds to Russia in the vain hope that he can avert a mid-term electoral setback he has betrayed Ukraine and helped bolster Russia’s brutal war.

It is Donald Trump’s incompetent handling of Iran which has driven up oil prices. Sadly, it is not Ukraine which is in need of new leadership; it is the United States of America.

SIR – On August 1, 1943, the United States Army Air Forces carried out a low-level, daylight raid on the Romanian oil refinery at Ploesti. Approximately one third of the attacking aircraft were shot down and 500 or so airmen were lost. Now, Donald Trump is urging Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to desist: simply, it would seem, in order to bring down the cost of diesel fuel in America and thereby enhance Trump’s chances of success in the mid-term elections.

So, if oil was a legitimate target in 1943, why is Trump insulting the memory of those 500 men, by saying that it is not a legitimate target now

Ukraine strikes major Russian oil hub hours after Trump's deal with Putin- By Brett Erickson in Newsweek

The loading terminal of Russia's Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery caught fire overnight following reports of a Ukrainian drone strike just hours after President Trump announced a deal to supply millions of tons of Russian diesel fuel to the global market.

The incident suggests Kyiv will continue targeting Russian energy infrastructure despite pressure from the United States, with the Trump administration hoping energy costs will come down ahead of the November midterm elections.

The Fire:  Overnight a large blaze broke out at the Novoshakhtinsk oil loading terminal in Rostov-on-Don with footage shared on social media showing intense smoke and flames emanating from the facility.
