American democracy is dangerously at risk of implosion! Vote Blue!

We need expertise more now than ever; our country and our planet are at stake. Echo opinion letter published in the Delaware State News: 

This letter writer makes the urgent connection between protecting American democracy and the methodology during World War II, in  supporting the Manhattan Project. 

By 1945, the scientists of the Manhattan Project working to develop and build a nuclear weapon had made significant progress. Democrats now need the same kind of urgent strategy.

In Trump world, there is only one value that really matters: (blind!) loyalty. People who make up the “intelligentsia” — the doctors, scientists, judges, the top people in all professions and anyone who thinks for him- or herself — are not to be trusted because their loyalty is to the truth, not to a person. In Trump world, this kind of independence is deemed a threat.

This is not new stuff. Donald Trump’s kind of narcissism is as old as mankind. What is new are the stakes. We sit at the edge of two impending man-made catastrophes: the end of our democracy and runaway climate change. At this critical moment, one of the major players, the Republican Party under Trump, has left the building. 

First, they decided democracy is simply an obstacle on their path to permanent power; and second, they are in denial of the science that tells us that human-caused climate change is an existential threat to mankind.

So Democrats now have a problem much like that facing the scientists of the Manhattan Project in World War II. Those men and women worked night and day to beat the Nazis to the atomic bomb. The Democratic Party now needs to beat the Republican Party to the proverbial button that will blow up our democracy and our world. This can happen only by overwhelming the Republicans at the ballot box. Thank goodness, more and more Democrats and moderates of all stripes are beginning to see the light.

Donald Trump is a political fraud- an echo from Delaware

Echo opinion letter published in the Delaware State News- The Capital Daily:

Just in case some of you have forgotten, let me remind you how Donald Trump came to be named president of the United States.

Remember, Secretary Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. Unfortunately, that unnecessary and outmoded Electoral College system, using the old “formula” for counting votes, arrived at Donald Trump.

Trump has no political background or experience in running a government. Yes, he ran a financial “empire,” most of which he has run into the ground with bankruptcies. He doesn’t seem to grasp the difference between an empire and a government that is by the people and for the people. He does seem well-versed in the art of firing employees who do not agree 100% with his decisions, despite the effects his decisions would have on the citizens of our country.

Now, Trump is so fearful of not winning reelection, he is doing all he can to see that all anti-Trump votes will not be counted. 

By controlling the Postal Service, Trump hopes to steal the election. 

Moreover, Trump has already told us he plans on fighting if the votes are not in his favor. Why is he building a barricade around the White House, the people’s house? Is he preparing for a standoff?

The White House is now surrounded by nearly 2 miles of fencing and barricades

Is Trump, by any standard, the man to be president? This man has no qualities (!) that would lend themselves to what a true leader is! (Maine Writer- In fact, Trump is a failed leader!)

No, no, Trump does not merit even one more month in office.

Donald Trump- How much longer must the world tolerate this dangerous clown?

Trump’s idiotic statements and cruel policies require a new word in the English language. Opinion echo published in the Delaware State News. 

Trump has done it before, and now he’s at it again! Promising a pardon to anyone breaking the law for his political purposes! It’s amazing, astonishing, disgusting, not surprising, and impeachable!

Trump’s idiotic statements and cruel policies require a new word in the English language. It is the word which comes to mind every time most people read Trump’s comments or see a report about his latest antics (astonishingly cruel “policies”) — “boutapuke,” as in: I am boutapuke!

Trump, like every other president of the United States, swore to protect, uphold, and defend the Constitution .yet he has no clue what that means, and commits crimes and impeachable offenses at a record pace. So far, we know of obstruction of justice, abuse of power, perjury and we have yet to see the tax returns and financial documents he so desperately is trying to hide!

How much longer must the world tolerate this clown? Maybe, 17 more months. Yep, I am boutapuke.
