Donald Trump is crazy! Full Stop! He must be removed from office, impeached or by 25th Amendment- NOW!

Echo opinion letter published in CAPTimes, a Wisconsin newspaper:

Dear Editor: Donald Trump agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran. It's been fragile, the details sketchy at best. But for now he has backed off from his draconian threats to Iran.

Those threats to destroy Iran's non-military infrastructure of bridges, power plants and water desalinization systems, if carried out, would be considered war crimes under the Geneva Convention.

Of course there are those who would say that Trump's draconian threats to end the civilization of Iran is just Trump being Trump. Just a negotiating technique.

But, I contend, and it's of utmost importance for everyone to remember, that Trump knows, the Iranians know, and we should all know, that in any real serious negotiation such as the one between the United States and Iran, there is no place or purpose for the completely idle threat. He really thinks he might blow Iran into "smithereens." When we consider that, along with Trump's escalating psychological instability, think malignant narcissism, we can only conclude the president is not well. Not well at all.

This incompetence makes Trump now totally unfit to carry out the duties of the presidency, and not only puts our United States system of government in crisis mode, but also puts the rest of the world on existential standby.

The time for invocation of the 25th Amendment should be at hand. There has never been a more pressing moment in our country's modern history when that has been more apparent and important.

Donald Trump and maga Republicans motivate exodus of Americans looking to move to Canada

Dear Editor echo letter published in The CAP Times, newsin Wisconsin. (*Check below to read a Facebook post from Canadian journalist Alex-felix Tremblay)

I have a cousin, a citizen of the United States, who recently moved to Canada. She and her partner will be there for three years, the maximum visa time Canada will allow them. They were hoping for a bit longer before returning. My cousin said they departed because of Donald Trump and his ilk's attitude toward LGBTQ and DEI.

My cousin is in her mid-60s, born and raised in Wisconsin, as were her parents and grandparents.

My cousin and her partner will have to return to the United States before Trump leaves office. And they are nervous about whether that will even happen. Their hope is America will at least normalize to some degree upon their return, perhaps at least to the point just before Trump descended the escalator. But they aren't waiting with bated breath because there currently is no shortage of replacements for the Trump army of hate.

I don't have specific statistics for the LGBTQ community of people who want to emigrate like my cousin. But, I am more than comfortable saying they are very far from alone.

And, besides my being deeply embarrassed as a fellow American, I am at a loss as to what to do about the deeply embedded cancer of evil Trumpism that has invaded our country.

*Hello, I'm a journalist with Radio-Canada in Quebec, Canada, and I'm looking for American citizens with Canadian ancestry who are in the process of immigrating to Canada. The new Canadian law seems more permissive. Please inbox me site here.

No One, not even the former guy Trumpzi, is above the law

ACLU- Trump has conflicts of interest with foreign institutions and officials, has misstated his assets to avoid tax liabilities, or has violated financial disclosure obligations.”

“Trump claims… that this authority ought not to extend to investigations of the president. He contends that he should be immune from all state criminal investigations as long as he remains in office. And he objects that the congressional committees are impermissibly pursuing law enforcement objectives, not legitimate inquiries to inform legislation.” 😲😠
Echo opinion letter to the editor of The Cap Times, in Madison, Wisconsin: On  the "Fake Trumpzi" Truth Social, 😕😠Donald Trump insisted that a president must have immunity in order to properly function and do what has to be done for the good of the country.

An appellate court countered that the public interest in criminal accountability "outweighs" the potential risks of chilling presidential action and that presidents should face indictments like everyone else.

Former Guy Trump is the first president to ever face criminal indictment. Indictments are not issued willy-nilly, nor for purely political purposes. We as a nation can trust our system of justice.

No other candidates for the presidency are advocating for immunity as hard as Trump. He only cares about it for his own selfish want for a specific lifestyle. His vision of America. What's good for Donald Trump. Nothing else and certainly not for the good of the country.

If he were really concerned for the future of the American presidency, the executive branch, he would make a presidential precedent and own any convictions. Show the people we have equal justice under the law, where no one is above the law.

And if he's as good a negotiator as he claims, he could use all that business acumen to do a deal. Perhaps just trading one country club for another, for a few years. Taking that time to write a memoir.

I even have a title in mind, "The art of needing to make a deal."

Echo warnings about right wing Christian Nationalism

Echo opinion letters warn about the dangers of Christian nationalism:
Religion News Service:  Christian nationalism is a trending topic in midterm election campaigns, with extremists and even members of Congress such as (right wing nut case!) Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene identifying with the term and others, such as Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano, expressing open hostility to the separation of church and state. In the road show known as the ReAwaken America Tour, unapologetically Christian nationalist leaders crisscross the country spouting conspiracy theories and baptizing people.

Lancaster On Line:  Christian nationalism is quite simply a movement that uses Christianity as an excuse for prejudice and discrimination. It disavows many of God’s teachings and solidly opposes the concept of separation of church and state.

This country’s Founding Fathers specifically disavowed any connection between religion and government. These Christian nationalists offer nothing but division and discrimination, with no benefit to anyone.

From Brad Tinkham in Elizabethtown, in Lancaster County Pennsylvania
Christian nationalism is the belief that the American nation is defined by Christianity, and that the government should take active steps to keep it that way.

CAP Times in Wisconsin: There has been a renewed resurgence to declare the United States a Christian nation, no longer keeping the church separate from the state.

Christian nationalists are promoting antidisestablishmentarianism.

That word has gained a renewed importance — no longer just one of the longest words in the dictionary. It refers to Christian nationalists advocating for Christian churches to receive government patronage rather than be disestablished, meaning separate from state support.

Proponents believe the church should have say and sway in our country's governance and have an official status there. There is even a movement in Congress for this.

Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado is spearheading an effort to have the United States declared Christian, preferably with her own version and vision as a foundation. She has up to 61% of Republicans in her camp. But this might in numbers does not make it right.

It's stated in the First Amendment to the Constitution that Congress can neither establish, nor prohibit the practice of religion. To declare the United States Christian would violate the establishment clause and put a de facto pariah label to non-Christian religions and the agnostics and atheists among us. These groups make up to 35% of the United States population. That is a lot of people who would be given outcast status.

Many Christian nationalists cry foul over gun control regulations. They scream that their Second Amendment rights are being violated, yet when they want to violate the First Amendment with no separation of church and state, that's OK. For them the Constitution is to be used as a convenient avenue to (selfishly) get what they want.
